About Croatia AirlinesThe Croatia Airlines fleet has eleven aircraft – five A319 Airbuses, one of which the company is leasing from German Lufthansa, three A320 Airbuses and there ATR42 aircraft. Croatia Airlines History
Croatia Airlines
was established in 1989 under the name Zagal (Zagreb Airlines), with core
business in UPS shipments’ transport in a Cessna 402C airplane. In 1990,
following the first democratic elections in the independent Republic of Croatia,
the company was renamed Croatia Airlines. In 1991 a leased MD-82 airplane
enabled the first scheduled flight in domestic traffic on the Zagreb – Split
line. A year later, having bought three Boeing 737 aircraft from German
Lufthansa, Croatia Airlines started flying in scheduled international traffic
(first flight Zagreb – Frankfurt), and the company became a member of the
International Air Transport Association (IATA). Croatia Airlines website
