TAROM-Romanian Airlines About TAROM-Romanian AirlinesTAROM is the Romanian national airline, almost entirely owned by the state. In 2004, TAROM celebrated its 50th anniversary. The company has a fleet of 16 aircraft. TAROM-Romanian Airlines HistoryTAROM was established in September 1954 and six years later, the airline was operating to almost all European countries. In the mid-60s, TAROM operated its first flight across the Atlantic and had introduced by 1974 scheduled flights to New York and Beijing and Sydney, via Calcutta.
